On a beautiful day with a clear blue sky and a light NE breeze, 36 left-handed golfers had the chance to play on a course that is the envy of many clubs. They all played well and some impressive scores were recorded.
Simon Murphy won the Gross "Donaldson" Trophy with a score of 80 on a count back from Scott Ward. John McKenzie won the Stableford "Angus" Trophy with an impressive 43 points. Other golfers who received a Stableford prize for their performances include Norman Rowe (38), Richard Davison (38), Hudson Murray (37), Ross Preece (37), Malcom Pettigrew (35), Darren Lewis (35), Bruce Day (35), Rodger Welsh (35), Des McKenzie (35), Jane Helmore (35), Ross Herrett (34), Scott Ward (34), and Mark Cassey (34).
Brian Te Awa was awarded the "Shot of the Day" special prize for his impressive eagle. Unfortunately, no one made a two!
The nearest to the pin awards went to Simon Murphy, Ron Marshall, and Lloyd Bell.
George Brown won the card draw.
Surprisingly, 15 balls were handed out to those who lost a ball during the game.
We would like to express our gratitude to our sponsors, NALGNZ, Rangiora New World, Richard Davison, and Weldon Investments.
We also thank Club Waimak volunteers for their assistance in running the event.
