LEFT HANDERS GOLF TOURNAMENT
Saturday and Sunday
20th / 22st January 2024
Reefton is a small town located inland next to the Inangahua River in the West Coast region of the South Island. In August 1888, Reefton became the first place in both New Zealand and the Southern Hemisphere to have a public supply of electricity, even before the fashionable suburbs of London and New York. The Reefton Golf Course, also known as Glenburnie, is a voluntary-run 12-hole course with six different tee boxes for holes 13-18.

It was amazing to see so many golfers from different places come together to play, have fun, and celebrate the winners, who coincidentally were everyone who participated in the event! The weather was perfect, and even though we were on the West Coast, people used umbrellas to create shade.
Brian Hampton did an exceptional job organising the event, securing sponsorships, ensuring that the course was in good condition, providing food and drinks, and hosting a barbecue on Saturday night that left everyone feeling satiated. Moreover, every participant went home with a prize.
I would like to thank all those who travelled long distances to be here and take part in this incredible event.
