Bruce Day reports: -
To play golf on a well-manicured course is a delight to behold. Such was Ashburton. More than twenty players entered. The day was warm, with a salient zephyr from the northwest which made for long drives downwind.
We were greeted with morning tea with lovely fruit loaf and dressed pikelets.
After our round, we entered the Club House, where we were presented with splendid savouries, scones and biscuits.
Scoring was good, a result of having fast greens to putt on,
Best net Wayne Kerr 72
Best Stableford Janelle Lewis 34 (count back)
Next Rodger Welsh 34, Andrew Fenemor 34, Bruce Day 34, Roger Ford 32, Al Jopson 32, Robert Golding 32.
Closest to pins: - Simon Murphy 4, Craig Meyrick 12
2's: - Robert Golding, Simon Murphy and Michael Bruner
Thank you, Ashburton.
